Personality[]
Hooper is a typical CEO. He does not seem to value human life very much. He hypes up the theatrics of the event and has a generally cheery demeanour at all times.[1]
Background[]
His company has had The Bronze Savant as their corporate sponsor for many years, but choose to undergo a conversion procedure to the Crawling-In-Ecstasy due to changes in consumer perception polls.[1]
When Paige writes Mr. Hooper a private email on behalf of her manager Vaughan, he responds thanking her for her empathy, promising to pass her comments along to HR, and offering her a company car. He copies four other directors.
A few weeks later. Mr. Hooper personally oversaw the sacrificial process to welcome in The Crawling-In-Ecstasy, a pivotal and traumatizing moment for Paige.
"Please do join me in Meeting Room Nine this afternoon - we’re assembling thank-you cards for our colleagues who are leaving us tomorrow, so do come and add your signature whenever you can…"[1]
"You will be raw material for something truly new. And that is a remarkable honour... Beside the new monument in reception, there will be a special plaque, with your names and today’s date etched upon it."[1]
After hosting and emceeing the sacrificial event, Mr. Hooper tells Paige to check on the other employees.
